"Producer Sam Raimi brings audiences the terrifying thriller 30 Days of Night, set in the isolated town of Barrow, Alaska, in the extreme northern hemisphere, which is plunged into complete darkness annually for an entire month. When most of the inhabitants head south for the winter, a mysterious group of strangers appear: bloodthirsty vampires, ready to take advantage of the uninterrupted darkness to feed on the town's residents. As the night wears on, Barrow's Sheriff Eben (Hartnett), his estranged wife Stella (George) and an ever-shrinking group of survivors must do anything they can to last until daylight."
The film is scheduled for an Oct. 19 release.

Heroes – Fallout

We open as Claire and her father HRG are just getting home. Clair is worried that her father is upset, but he isn’t he has a confession to make. He knew about her all along, he knew before she did. He tells her that he did things he wasn’t proud of… He promises her that the man is taken care of. Her mother and brother knew nothing. He basically tells her that to keep her safe she has to keep it secret.

Then we cut to Matt and Audrey outside Clair’s school. They are there chasing what looks to be to them another Sylar attack. They talk a bit about How Peter didn’t do it, and that there was another two sets of footprints. Sylar had help.

Peter is in a cell, sort of Hannibal Lector glass wall cell. He seems fully recovered from the night’s festivities. His brother Nathan comes in, and bails him out. Peter admits to Nathan that he thought he was a hero, and that he could save the cheerleader… Nathan’s voice changes, deeper, creepy, and tells him that he can’t that he knows nothing about power. Peter wakes up with a start in his cell; it was just a dream…

Next we have Nikki, or should we say Jessica, taking potshots at D.L. He takes a few shots, and uses his powers to avoid a headshot. Watching the bullet pass harmlessly through his head was pretty awesome. Then Jessica comes in close for the kill, getting a chastising look from Nikki in the reflection in the car door. Checking the car she see’s that Micah and D.L. Are gone.

Then we go to Sylar. Quite the piece of work, in his cell, HRG is talking to Sylar, and knows all about him now. His powers won’t work in the special cell. Sylar is quite insane. He tells HRG that he will get out of there and collect one more power from his daughter…

HRG gets his orders from his masters that Sylar is to live. Eden offers to make Sylar kill himself. HRG denies it.

DL and Micah are in the woods running away. DL thinks it was the police shooting at them, but Micah doesn’t think it was. Micah and DL find a cabin, and start to dress DL’s wounds. They talk about how it looked like Nikki, but Micah tells him that she would never hurt him on purpose. DL then passes out.

Audrey and Matt go into Peters room to interrogate him. They tell him that his mother had six levels of lawyers to climb through before they got to him. Matt tries to read his mind, but gets some sort of feedback.. It hurts them both for a little bit, then Peter reads Audrey’s mind. Peter tells them that he did save the cheerleader, and that it was Claire was the one he was after. They rush after Claire to protect her.

Next we have Eden coming into Isaac’s cell. He’s sketching. Eden tells him that Clair was saved, and that she is going “off the reservation” He tells her what’s the point of painting the future if no one will change it.

Then we cut to Hiro (HIRO!) And Ando are at Clair’s school, thinking that they didn’t save the cheerleader. That Charlie was the cheerleader they were supposed to save. They talk a bit about how the world might be doomed. Even though Hiro has doubts about his ability to change the future they continue on with their quest to find Peter and stop the bomb. Just then Isaac calls them they need to meet.

Next we have Claire and HRG in an interview room with Audrey talking about the attack. Matt is on the other side of the glass trying to pick up whatever he can from them telepathically. Audrey doesn’t mince words, she asks flat out how Peter and Sylar survived the four story drop. Then she asks Clair how she didn’t get hurt, even thought they found blood at the scene. Matt couldn’t get anything from either of them, it was like some sort of static was in the way. It was the same static he felt in that bar before he lost a day.

Jessica is running through the woods hot on DL and Micah’s trail She finds Dl’s bloody coat on a bush, and the sight of DL’s blood wakes Nikki up long enough to have a fight with Jessica. Jessica basically tells her that she isn’t strong enough and that she is in control.. Just then Micah screams for help and Nikki goes running.

Clair comes in to see Peter. HRG tells Peter that he owes him his life. Peter coughs, and Claire asks if they can talk privately. HRG leaves, and Claire asks him how long he’s known he was like her. They talk about how he saved her, and he tells her that he knew he had to save her to save the world. He admits that the healing thing is new to him, and that he didn’t know he would heal when he jumped off the building… Claire is quite struck on Peter, and as she leaves she calls him her hero.

Micah leads Nikki to DL, but as soon as she gets there she starts knocking the shit out of DL. In the process Micah gets thrown and hurts himself on some rocks. This shocks both them out of the fight and Nikki takes control again. She apologizes to them both.

Zach and Claire are at the football field talking about how its being covered up who died at homecoming, but that everyone knows it was Charlie. Claire destroys the tapes she made with Zach. Zach apologizes to Claire for making her go to home coming.

Hiro, and Ando are at the greyhound station, and Isaac gets off the bus. They take him to the burnt toast diner, and show him the comic from the future. He is amazed. He admits that he can only see the future when he’s high. Hiro tells him about the bomb, and Isaac with no head, and they talk about how they have to stop the bomb. Hiro tells him about the friend that died. Isaac tells them that he drew a scene in the comic a few days ago, sober, and that he did it, and that maybe stopping the bomb is his destiny too.

Claire is talking to her brother, wanting to know what happened, and what their father said. He sort of pauses, he hasn’t seen their father all day, and he can’t remember how he got home…

Nikki and DL are walking through the woods, and talking about how she needs help. Nikki tells DL about Jessica, but Nikki thinks that Jessica can’t be trusted since she hurt Micah. Nikki walks over to some cops and tells them that they should arrest her for murder.

Matt, and Audrey are staking Claire out, Audrey thinks Matt can be cute, she realizes that he heard that. They laugh about it, and she says he’s married and loves his wife. He thinks he’s a chump for trying to make the marriage work.
They see HRG, and the Haitian. Matt recognizes the Haitian from that day… He tries to read their minds, but only gets two things: A nosebleed and one word. Sylar…

Claire is talking to Zach. She’s freaked out that her brother can’t remember anything, the day, or any of her powers. Zach is pissed that Clair is talking to him. He says that she hasn’t talked to him since second grade. She knows that they got to him too… She runs off.

HRG and Sylar are talking. Sylar tells him that they are similar that they both collect special people. HRG tells him that they are going to take him apart and find out what makes him tick.

Hiro, Ando, and Isaac are in the hotel room. Isaac is in front of a canvas, he doesn’t think he can do it, but Hiro holds out hope and tells him to concentrate. Isaacs eyes white out and he starts to draw on the canvas.

HRG is in his car, and he gets a cell phone call. It’s Claire, and she’s freaking out. She asks HRG if he remembers what she told him. He says yes. She tells him that Zach and Lyle don’t remember. We see the Haitian come in, he talks to her. Telling her that her father told him to come there and make her forget. Like he did to Lyle, and Zach, and her mother many many times, but its important that she remember. Then he asks her if she can keep a secret….

Hiro, and Ando are watching Isaac paint, wondering what to do when he’s done. When they see the painting they are at first confused, Ando asks if he can only paint the future. The scene is of Hiro fighting a dinosaur with a sword…. Hiro is scared, what if he steps on a bug? He could change all of time…. He comments that he really needs to find that sword…

Mohinder is in his fathers office, and he gets a call. Its Eden. She confesses that she lied to him, and that she is sorry. She tells him that she has to make things right, but first killing the man who murdered his father.

In Sylars cell Eden has a gun. She admits that he knows her; he admits that she lived next door to Chandra. She uses her power on Sylar and tells him to kill himself with the gun. He uses his power and pulls her through the glass, and tells her that he is going to consume her power. Rather than let him do this, she shoots herself in the head.

Nathan comes to bail Peter out. Peter tries to tell Nathan what was going on, he doesn’t look good. He’s getting sicker and sicker. He falls over, and wakes up in a deserted New York. There are cars stopped everywhere in the street. Then he sees Mohinder getting out of a taxi, he looks happy to see Peter at first, and then he runs away. Next we see Matt DL, Micah, and Nikki; they are running away from him too. Claire runs up to him, but pulls back before she gets too close. She looks at him like he’s changed. Simone comes to run up to Peter, but Isaac grabs her before she gets too close. Nathan walks out of his offices with a stern look on his face. Hiro and Ando watch from the sidelines concerned looks on their faces… Claire mouths, “I’m sorry” and runs away. Hiro, looks down sad, and walks away with Ando. Peter’s hands are glowing…Nathan walks right up to Peter, Peter’s eyes start glowing, he screams and explodes. Peter wakes up on the ground in the present. He tells Nathan that it was all his fault, the explosion…Then Peter sort of looks like he dies..

PETER IS THE BOMB! EDEN IS DEAD! SYLAR IS LOOSE! Heavens to betsy…

and the others are there. DL, Micah, Nikki/Jessica, Even Nathan comes out of his campaign headquarters. Clair comes running up to Peter. They are all fleeing something

Jericho: Vox Populi

6 Weeks after the bombs…

Well, it looks like Jericho is quite willing to throw the cards up in the air and completely change everything. Gracie died!

I figured she’d be convalescing in the clinic until something happened and she got back on her feet to be redeemed from being a psycho profiteering bitch from hell, but nope. She died outright. Then we have Mitchell claiming that Jonah did it and went awol. WE have Gray leading armed men through town, being a total asshole vigilante. Finally when we do get Jonah, Gray wins the election! OMG! Fuck! Not cool man, not cool. Robert finally tried to shirk off his overlords, and make a life in Jericho… not to that warm a reception. Dale gets Gracie’s store, and is promptly threatened by Mitchell, which of course changes his mind about who killed Gracie. In a rather tense scene we have Jake telling Gray that he can’t make Jonah disappear, especially when he’s innocent. They decide to exile him from Jericho. Stanley and Mimi are bedding each other, much to Bonnies disgust.

The reason the synopsis is so scattered, and not the usual scene by scene… well the ending. The ending of this episode is the real meat and gravy of the show. Just as Emily and Jake get together, kiss, and decide to become an item a group of stragglers comes into town, looking horrible, and like they walked through hell. Amongst them is Emily’s Fiancé, Roger!

Roberts’s overlords tell him quite graphically that they know exactly where he is, and they will be seeing him quite soon.

OMFG! Ok, good episode. Most of the turkey chase for Jonah was ho hum, but then we get to the end of the episode and realize how much has changed. The Greens are out of power. Gracie is dead. Jonah is out of power. Mitchell is dead. Dale is in charge of the store. Bonnie is going over to the dark side. Stanley and Mimi are starting to domesticate each other. Gray is in charge. And most of all Roger is in Jericho….

Oohhhh I cannot wait for episodes to begin again. I hate how they do this to me, get things to the point where I’m on the edge of my seat and make me wait. Not good for my nerves.

Thursday's world broadcast premiere of Spider-Man 2 on Fox included several behind-the-scenes views of Spider-Man 3, including the shot of Venom first shown at Comic-Con International and recently leaked on the Internet.
Fox expanded its primetime programming to 2-1/2 hours for Spider-Man 2, which was shown in an edited format.
Following commercial breaks, short segments were shown, including some new footage and comments from cast members.
A Venom image was noticably absent from the trailer that debuted on Thursday, Nov. 9. That following weekend, another trailer, which included a Venom ending and many in-the-works effects, leaked out on the Internet, sending Sony scurrying for its removal.
But the Venom scene was shown immediately on Thursday night in a teaser at the beginning of Fox's broadcast of Spider-Man 2.
Also shown was Willem Dafoe, who apparently is returning as Norman Osborn.

Jericho: Red flag

Well, the episode basically centers around an unusual arrival. Basically that of relief supplies. The thing that confuses the townsfolk is this, the planes are soviet planes that haven't been made since the seventies, and the supplies are all Chinese...

to start the episode Jake and some of the new militia are turkey hunting for thanksgiving, and are worried that they won't be able to fight when the time comes because they cannot shoot turkey. out of nowhere they hear noise and see big planes on the horizon, the first planes they've seen since the attacks. They start to drop something with parachutes.. Jake opens one and it turns out to be food. Apparently they packets have been dropped all over town, and is causing quite the stir. In the center of town the people are gathered wondering what to do when the mayor tells them they can't eat the food. The mayor and some of the others think that this might be another attack,that the food might be poisoned. Of course the townsfolk,who are starting to get really skinny due to lack of food. Mayor Green takes the food and asks Gracie if they can store it in her store, but he interrupts a raid by Jonah and some of his boys. they had a deal with Gracie to supply her store in exchange for certain things, but things are getting scarce and they are taking what they want. The mayor makes a new deal with Gracie, one of the conditions being that her price gouging is over, so that she can store the food there. Meanwhile, back at the ranch Mimi comes to Stanley telling him that they have some parcels. She tells him about the two drops they got. One like the others, and another one is a rather large generator. She sends Mimi to town to tell everyone their good luck.

Gray tells the mayor that they need this food, and to prove that he thinks its not poisoned he breaks open some crackers and eats them. He seems to suffer no ill effects.

the Hawkins are starting their Thanksgiving dinner with no turkey and the kids are kind of miffed that Robert missed the thanksgivings before this one.

Jonahs men steal the generator from Stanley, and rough him up pretty well in the process. When he stumbles back into town Jake and the mayor mount a posse to get the generator back from Jonah.

We get a pretty serious shootout at Jonahs compound, but out of nowhere the flatbed truck with the generator comes screaming through the gates. Emily is driving it. She snuck into the compound and stole it out from under Jonahs Nose. The men regroup and head back to town.

While packing the parachutes away they make a discovery. RF-ID tags the US military uses for its equipment are in the parachutes. Who sent the food is a complete mystery.

The new generator set up. Robert goes and gets his family. they are made at first he missed his thanksgiving again, but this time he takes them out and shows them the generator. when the switch is flipped lights in the town start to come on. Robert tells his son, "this is what daddy did at work today"

Gracie is happy with the way things turned out, she goes into her darkened store. But out of nowhere somewhere grabs her from behind covers her mouth and stabs her in the gut. She drops like a sack of bricks to the floor.

Buffy Season 8...

"Buffy." Just say that one word out loud at a comic book convention and you'll find that everyone has an opinion about the cult favorite—and critically lauded—television show that lasted seven years. In addition to "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," creator Joss Whedon's opus resulted in a popular spin-off "Angel," and their combined popularity led to the Whedon launching "Firefly," a short lived sci-fi/western on Fox. While the latter series have been popular in their own right, it's "Buffy" that has become like a religion for so many fans invested in the tale of a lone woman tasked with saving the world from supernatural forces. Featuring some of the most dynamic and layered females characters on television, in addition to anti-heroes such as Angel & Spike, "Buffy" has continued to expand its reach with the consistently high-selling DVD sets. Fans have always longed for more tales of Buffy Summers and her "Scooby Gang," with rumors of made-for-television sequels surfacing every few months and now they have reason to celebrate.
Well Buffy fans, rejoice, for Joss Whedon recently spoke to "Entertainment Weekly" about "Buffy" Season 8—the comic book! "We're picking up almost right after season seven left off," he told the magazine. "I don't know exactly why it or how it happened. I just thought, 'Oh, I could do that! It would be fun!' It happens to me every now and then, and causes me to commit to things I really don't have time for."
Still, fans would love to see their favorite "Buffy"—and "Angel"—characters on their television screens again, but Whedon told "EW" why it's not likely. "I had been thinking about doing some TV movies based on 'Buffy' characters, but we could never get anything resembling financing together that was realistic, so it fell by the wayside. But that whole failed endeavor made me start thinking about what would happen next, and what the stories and mythology would be. I realized there was a lot to say, and it could make for a really fun comic book.''
Whedon also told the magazine that we'll see very minimal involvement from the "Angel" cast, as that series has their own comics published by IDW Publishing, but there will be a focus on the large amount of slayers now in the world. The scribe will also be using some ideas he originally included in the pitch for the spin-off "Slayer School," as well as introducing some interesting new conflicts into the lives of Buffy & Co. Don't expect to see a resolution to the "Angel" series, as Whedon hinted at other plans for the titular vampire-with-a-soul.
Comic book fans know that this isn't the first canonical adaptation of the Buffy-verse, with the "Fray" mini-series, from Dark Horse Comics, that introduced a very important weapon into the universe, used in Season 7 of the "Buffy" series. Whedon's also no stranger to comic books, with the uber-popular Marvel Comics series "Astonishing X-Men" under his belt, and his upcoming tenure on the fan-favorite "Runaways."

Battlestar Galactica: Hero

Eyes sweaty/panicked and covered in goo…

Then on colonial one the president is going through Baltar’s things and re organizing things. They plan on putting a portrait of Baltar in the bathroom. Finding some older papers they realize that its Adama’s 45th anniversary in the service. They plan on giving him a medal for service to boost everyone’s mood.

Back on Galactica we have alarms and warnings. Three Cylon raiders are coming in fast. They send a squadron out to cut them down. Two of them are cut down, and they start to get radio signals from the third cylon fighter. Adama orders an escort for the Cylon fighter. Down in the hangar bay the guards have the fighter circled, and the crew give it a wide berth. It starts to leak some goo, and suddenly a hatch pops open and a man falls out. He looks around, and sees Adama, he rises to his feet and Adama comes to him they salute one another. He asks “is it really you sir” Adama replies, “yes, it’s really me. Welcome home bulldog.”

We flashback to Adama in an office with other men talking about a stealth ship, and the one pilot he trusts. Bulldog.

Back aboard Galactica Doc Cottle has confirmed that Bulldog isn’t a cylon using his military records. Adama is on the phone with Roslyn telling her that he is a man captured three years ago. Adama asks him how he escaped a base ship, he tells him that he was in a cell for three years. The service and accommodations sucked so he left. After a little laugh. He tells Adama that all the cylons started getting sick, and its spreading, getting worse. Flashing back to the Base star we see Xena looking rather rundown talking to him. Asking him about why he works out, and tormenting him through the bars. He hits her through the bars and apparently pushes her nose through her face into her brain killing her. It looks really gross.

Then we have Roslyn asking him about Adama’s secret mission. They tell her about an ore mining outpost too close to the cylon border, and he was shot down by the Turnons in cold blood. He got shot down, and they lost contact. Roslyn is amazed by him surviving. Roslyn sends her assistant to check and see if any of Bulldogs family survived. When they are alone Roslyn asks Adama what really happened. He tells her to trust him, he will fix it. When she leaves Adama throws things around in frustration.

Back aboard Galactia we have Xenabot roaming around, but she is quicklky captured. The guards fire on her at her own order. Xenabot wakes up aboard the cylon basestar in a bed with Baltar and Caprica six. Naked. It was a dream.

Tigh is laying in bed smoking, drunk again, unshaven smelly. We finally get a good look at his eyesocket. Adama comes in telling Tighe that Bulldog escaped. Tighe is amazed, and asks him if he is there to talk to a friend of an XO. Tighe knows what is going on. It’s going to be quite complicated. Tighe wants to know if Adama will tell Bulldog what he did, he reasons that he will find out sooner or later. Adama leaves.

Tighe is left alone in his misery, remembering his wife. Someone pounds on the door. It’s Bulldog.

Adama is in his office looking through photo albums of his children. Apollo comes in and Adama tells him that its time they talked. Tighe gripes about Adama, and how he’s busy covering his ass. Especially considering how Bulldog was captured.

Adama shot Bulldog down… Simply to maintain cover. It was a covert mission, and the Cylons had discovered them. The sole purpose of the mission was to figure out of the Cylons were going to attack. Apollo figured out that the colonials knew that the Cylons were out there readying an attack before they did it. There were theories that the cylons were in hiding building a war machine…

The Admirals under the Adar administration sent a stealth mission across the armistice line and see if there was any suspicious activity. The cylons would of course see this as an act of war. Bulldog went across the line, saw nothing. Out of nowhere a vessel jumped out of nowhere and Bulldogs ship went nuts. More ships showed up, and Adama ordered Bulldogs ship shot down. Tighe tried to talk him out of it, but he knew how vital it was that he wasn’t captured. The Valkyrie sends a missile after Bulldog but he ejects before it strikes.

Adama admits that the unknown ships were Cylons, that he started the war. The reason the Cylons attacked was because the Colonials crossed their borders. Apollo tells him that it was just as much the Admirals fault, he isn’t solely to blame.

Back on the base star one of the sixes is asking Xenabot about her dreams. Xenabot tells her that the dreams are different, and that god is sending her a message. She then gives a centurion orders to kill her and erase any memory of it. When she is dead she has flashes, she is in a convert hall looking at someone dressed in white, she has flashbacks, and then she wakes up in a new body. She tells them that there is something beautiful, miraculous between life and death.

Back on Glaactica Starbucks is going over the footage of Bulldogs flight. She stops it and asks herself “why do they keep missing” She rushes off. Bulldog is in his room, and he looks mad. Bulldog calls Adama, he needs to talk to him immediately.

Starbucks tells Tighe that the Cylons had Bulldog dead to rights, but they didn’t kill him. They let him escape.

Bulldog attacks Adama, really beast the piss out of him. Then he ties his hands behind his back with his belt. He asks him why he lied to him, and starts to choke him.

He rants about how he stayed alive by thinking of Adama coming to save him… He escaped because they left the door wide open. Adama asks if they let him escape. Bulldog thinks that he beat them. Just then Tighe shows u, in uniform might I add, and kicks Bulldogs ass. He tells him that they are all expendable, and that the cylons let him go, and he tells him to ask himself why. He is doing what they want, trying to seek revenge. And he almost gave in to what they wanted. He gives Adama his gun, and keeps talking to Bulldog about dignity, and how he is trying to find his honour. Adama asks Tighe how he put the bottle away.

Next we are in Colonial one, and Adama is giving Roslyn his resignation. She of course doesn’t accept it. She gets rather authoritative. She thinks he is being Naïve, she thinks the admiralty set him up to start the war they wanted. They did a thousand things good, and bad every day over forty years to provoke the attacks. She gives him a piece of paper showing him the medal of distinction thing. She proposes that since he wants to pay a penalty, he should get the medal the next day. She tells him that its not for him, its for them. He is to be what they need; a hero. That is his penance. Even if it kills him.

The Ceremony is quite nice, on the hangar deck in front of the crew and reporters she pins the medal on him and he stands back and takes the applause.

Bulldog is leaving, and Adama gives him his uniform. He doesn’t want to, but Adama tells him that once a pilot always a pilot. They salute and he sees bulldog off.

Later in Adama’s quarters Tighe shows up. They face off for a second; Tighe says he won a medal. Adama makes fun of it saying he got it for good attendance and playing well with others. He wants Tighe back in CIC, but Tighe doesn’t want that. That’s not what he came to talk about. Adama asks if he wants to talk about what happened to his wife. He says he needs a drink, Adama says he does too, he gets some drinks and they sit down at the table together.

Awesome Episode. Not so struck on Bulldog, seems like too much of a pasted on hero for my liking. But I liked the setup of the episode, I don’t think that Adama caused the war. The things the Cylon are into mentally are too intricate to be simple retaliation for a border incident., but letting Adama have that seed of doubt was a very good weapon to have in their arsenal. Starbuck is starting to become herself again, which is also good. Also Tighe isn’t quite where he was, but they are talking, which is in and of itself a good thing. He may not be his XO yeat, but he is still his friend.

To start we have a bunch of Hummers at Stanley’s farm. They are filling their tanks with Stanley’s gas. He warns them off, but they say they work with the federal government, and that they will reimburse them, they are in charge of helping people get what they need, food medicine, and things. The leader CXXXXX asks about Eric Green but Stanley tells him that he can’t help him. Jake has been sitting up all night since they escaped from Ravenwood. Eric tries to ask him about where he’s been but he deflects by asking Eric about Mary. Just then Stanly, Bonnie, and Mimi show up and tell Jake and Eric about the men. Jake knows that they are the mercenaries from Ravenwood.

Jake is trying to describe to the townsfolk who Ravenswood are. Robert advises that they fortify and try and keep the scouts from Ravenswood from getting into town. Jake advises them to block Tacoma Bridge, but Stanley’s and about 30 other families are on that side of the bridge. They will just have to come into town until things blow over.

April is giving Gail an update on the mayor’s health. He’s going to be ok. April hasn’t told Eric that she’s pregnant…

Jake some townsfolk are fortifying the bridge, and Robert accuses Jake off attracting the Ravenswood people.

Emily and Heather are looking over Emily’s wedding dress; Heather had brought her some flowers as a sort of wedding bouquet. Emily was supposed to be married today, and Heather is trying to keep her occupied.

Robert and Jake are manning the fortifications, and Jake says that this isn’t the first time Robert had a run-in with Ravenswood, Robert wants to know if he even knew he was in over his head.

Eric and April are talking; April tells her that she drew up the divorce papers when she didn’t think they had a future together, but she does now. Eric admits that he doesn’t think they have a future anyway. He’s in love with someone else. Mary. She calls him a son of a bitch and walks out.

At the battlements the hummers start to arrive. People are panicking and running behind the makeshift barricade of wrecked cars. The Ravenswood men tell the people of Jericho that they have to clear the road, that they are here on government orders to collect supplies and that their cooperation is mandatory. They start a small shooting skirmish. The Ravenswood people make an ultimatum that they have four hours to clear the road. Jake and Robert decide to destroy the bridge.

Back at the town hall Eric is gathering up ammo and weapons with the other men. Jericho. Jake, Gray, and Robert are trying to talk Eric into letting them blow up the bridge. Eric doesn’t want to. It would isolate everyone on that side of the bridge, the farms, and Stanley, and whatever.

Heather and Emily are getting ready for their Hike. Heathers truck is a rattle contraption and involves a lot of TLC to keep it from exploding. The bells of Jericho Toll…

Emily sort of spaces out and fantasizes about her wedding day, dress, flowers, and Heather as her maid of honour. The town is beautiful, and so is everything else.

Heather comes back out and tells her that they can’t hike because everyone was told to stay indoors.

Robert and Gray are going against Eric’s wishes and are making explosives to destroy the bridge. Jake goes to tell the people on the other side to come over.

Mary, Heather, and Emily have the last bottle of single malt scotch. That’s phase two.

Jake goes to Stanley’s and tells them that the bridge is going. Stanley is planning on staying with the farm.

Bonnie and Stanley are staying; Mimi tells Stanley that he is the connection that Bonnie is staying for, not the house.

The girls are drinking at Mary’s and the doctor sidles up to Emily and ask what she’s celebrating. They talk for a bit about how bad it is in the world since the bombs.

Eric confronts Gray over what he’s doing. He tells him that they have gone over his head and are going to blow the bridge.

Back at the Greens, eric talks to his father. His mother tries to talk him about his marriage, but he;s too intent on talking to his father about the bridge. His father tells him to stop them no matter what he has to do.

Eric goes to the bridge and takes a truck and drives across towards the Ravenswood people. The flare goes up that the Ravenswood people are coming. They know they can’t save Eric. There isn’t any time.

Back at the bar the girls are playing darts and Emily is talking with the doctor. He was in Los Vegas with no water or power, threw himself at the Red Cross and they took him to Kansas. Emily admits that she was supposed to be married tonight. She fantasizes again about the way her pre wedding party was supposed to be. She wanted to listen to polyester bride over and over again. She starts to fantasize through Heather that she was marrying for security instead of love, and will be bored.

Jake is trying to blow the bridge as the Ravenswood people get closer, but they are on top of him. He tells them that the bridge is wired but if they don’t turn around they will blow it. Jake tells him what he knows about Rogue River. Jake has the bomb attached to a kill switch, and if the snipers kill him it will go off. Robert starts picking off the Ravenswood men with a sniper rifle; this causes them to rethink their plans. They have a bit of a showdown, and then cars start to show up. It’s Eric, Jonah, and a the survivalists. They have Ravenswood surrounded. The Ravenswood people leave, but tell them basically that the government will send them back to “rebuild” Jericho, he sounds quite threatening.

Jonas tells the people of Jericho that the next time they want to blow up his way into town they should talk to him, and that they should learn to fight for themselves.

Emily is fantasizing about the way things could have been. She’s talking to her “dead” fiancé and he’s telling her that she’s attached to Jericho, and she knows why.

There is an angry mob and they still want to blow the bridge. They are led by Gray. Mayor Green shows up and tells them Gray isn’t in charge. He is telling them how important the bridge is. Gray tells the Mayor that the people should decide what to do.

Jake goes to his father, and tells him that they need a security force. Trained, and sanctioned by the mayor. The Mayor gives Jake a book, a US Ranger guide his father, Jakes grandfather used when he landed at Normandy. He tells Jake to make sure they do it right. Gail confronts Eric; Eric has no plans on going back home. Gail tells him that April will have a home with them as long as she wants one. Eric just walks off.

Robert thinks they got lucky with Ravenswood.

Emily is in the church and hears thunder. Jake comes in and calls her name. They talk about what the day is. They start to talk about Roger, and how he proposed, and how he proposed to her when they were teenagers. Emily asks him why he came back. He goes to her and they hug. He asks her if she is sure that’s what she wanted… The thunder rolls outside and it starts to rain. It was another fantasy, Jake wasn’t there.

Well, good episode, not as shocking as Rogue River last week, but set up some good tension, and setup how out of their league the people of Jericho really are. The Ravenswood people could really have crippled them, but they did as Robert said, luck out. Emily really does want Jake, and I think that it’s not that good of a pairing. I think that Heather and Jake would be a much better couple. Eric is out of the Green house, and the marriage is on the rocks. I’m guessing he goes to Mary.

JERICHO , CBS's hit freshman drama about the aftermath of a nuclear explosion in a small, peaceful Kansas town, will be broadcast without repeats for the remainder of the 2006-2007 season.
The network announced today that it has devised a scheduling pattern to broadcast JERICHO in two distinct seasons. JERICHO will conclude its "fall season" with a cliffhanger finale on Wednesday, Nov. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and come back in February with all original episodes for the remainder of the season.
JERICHO will return on February 14th with a recap special looking back at the first 11 episodes, followed by an original episode on February 21st. The all-new episode on February 21st will provide a look into life in Jericho the day before the nuclear bombs exploded.
To sustain audience momentum and update potential new viewers, CBS will create an online destination for JERICHO during the show's 10-week intermission. The site will include original content, interactive elements, recaps and sneak previews.
CBS will also continue to stream all episodes of JERICHO broadcast to date on its broadband channel innertube. Currently, JERICHO is the Network's most-streamed program on innertube.
JERICHO is averaging 11.08 million viewers, 3.4/10 in adults 18-49 and 4.5/12 in adults 25-54 and has boosted CBS's performance in the Wednesday, 8:00-9:00 PM time period by +50% in viewers, +42% in adults 18-49 and +50% in adults 25-54 compared to last year.

Torchwood 01x02 Day one

Episode Synopsis (spoilers abound)

We start out with Gwen and her boyfriend out for a night. They go bowling, and have a bite to eat. Of course their night is interrupted by a flaming UFO crashing. Gwen gets the page that she has to go to work.

The Torchwood people are rushes to the crash site before others get there, but don’t get there in time. “The amateurs got here first” The place is swarming with soldiers. Stumbling into the wrong tent, Gwen tries to tell them she is with Torchwood, they don’t believe her, but Jack rushes in to save her. He tells the soldiers to let them do the real work. The crash site is some sort of space debris. They take a lot of readings, and samples. Gwen accidentally hits it with a tool, and some sort of blue blowing stuff is seen inside. Smoke starts billowing from within, jack throws everyone a gas mask, and a large plume of purple smoke comes billowing out of the crack. It disappears into the night sky.

The purple haze falls on some woman in an alley breaking up with her boyfriend on her cellphone. It goes inside her through her mouth. The next thing we know she’s going back into the club. She kissed the bouncer to get in. When she gets in there she finds a cute guy, and throws herself at him. They sneak into the bathroom and he starts to have sex with her on the bathroom stall. At the point of climax he screams and turns into glowing gold particles, and she inhales him.

Back at Torchwood the team is berating Gwen for releasing the alien, Lanto tells them that finding the alien won’t be hard as there has been a 999 call and a death under unusual circumstances. The team rushes to the club that we saw the girl at earlier. Except now its covered in police, she stops to talk to her former partner for a minute, he’s proud that she’s special ops now. In the bathroom where the man died, Jack is talking to one of the bouncers. When asked how he knows the small pile of ash used to be a man, the bouncer admits that he had a hidden camera and was masturbating watching the sex. Torchwood watches the tape and makes a few funny comments about what happened. They don’t know the girl, or any leads. Jack tells them to pull a body close the dead man’s disfigure the face and make it look like a suicide attempt. Gwen is something shocked at this, but relents when Jack tells her that they can’t tell the family that he died screwing an alien. Gwen feels responsible.

The girl is back home with her boyfriend, who must not have gotten her message. She can’t remember what she did the previous night.

Jack is tracking the trajectory of the rock to find out where it came from. Gwen discovers that she is the only one at Torchwood that has a relationship. She asks them how they wind down, how they relax.

Toshiko is running the girls picture against all of the faces in the UK. Gwen is still a little sensitive at what they shouldn’t do. They start tracking her using the CCTV cameras on all the possible routes to the club. Coupled with a list of possible suspects. Back at the girls apartment she starts to have pain, the bell rings. It’s the mailman. She pulls him inside and starts to rip his clothes off. Just at the nick of time Torchwood bursts in and captures her. Back at the hub, they have her in one of those Hannibal lector cells. The girl, Clarice, is kind of confused, and thinks that they are MI5. Gwen tells her that she should know why she is there, and that she killed, Matt Stevens. She goes through some pain and a convulsion, and the alien personality inside comes out. She accuses Gwen of breaking her ship. Gwen starts interrogating it. Telling it not to bother enslaving humanity. The alien tells her that it lives off the energy released by sex. That humans taste so good. There is nothing up there like us. Of course Gwen starts to make out with the alien. Jack and the rest of Torchwood are watching on camera. They rush in to save her. The alien rejects Gwen because it has to be a man. Then Clarice comes back.

Gwen’s boyfriend calls her, and breaks her trance. Gwen walks out, and Owen makes fun of her. Lanto has Chinese food. Over the table they are all laughing and joking. Jack has to go to the bathroom, and as soon as he leaves they start gossiping about him. Hoping that Gwen knows more than they do. All they think they know is that Jack is gay, because period military isn’t the uniform of a straight man.

They continue studying Clarice trying to find a way to save her. Even going through her personal life. It turns out she is a walking aphrodisiac. They find Owen Naked in her cell. Clarice escapes her cell, but Jack stops her getting out of the hub. They fight for a bit, until the alien grabs the hand in a jar. Jack tells her its worthless to anyone but him. jack offers to let her go in exchange for the jar, but as soon as he opens the door she throws the jar and it smashes on the floor. Jack runs for the jar and picks up the still twitching hand. She escapes. Later Gwen berates Jack for his priorities. The hand is more important than their lives. The readings on Clarice aren’t stable, and are constantly changing. Owen has infected a rat with the gases that the alien has, the rat blows up.

Gwen goes to her ex’s place; apparently Clarice was the other woman… He is kind of a disheveled prick, and Clarice eats him. They are wondering why the alien chose her. It appears that Clarice works at a sperm bank. Torchwood rushes to the scene. She is busily making a meal of all the potential donors at the sperm bank. Torchwood corners her after she’s eaten quite a few of the men. She tells them that it’s getting weaker, and that she needs just one more. Jack volunteers, he kisses her, and she gets some of the gold from him. That’s just a kiss, imagine what the rest has. It won’t be long before Clarice explodes so Gwen volunteers her body for the alien so they can save her. Gwen says she will last longer and they might save her. Just as the alien leaves Clarice and goes for Gwen they capture it in the glowing portable cell. It starts to die in earths atmosphere. It dies in the cell, and Gwen Kisses Jack and tells him thank you. At the end Clarice goes home to her father, Jack and Gwen talk. Jack asks Gwen to keep her life, and not let the job consume her. Gwen asks Jack who he is, why he can’t die, or how he knows what the future holds. He tells her to be normal, for him.

Another good episode, enjoyed the premise, and the sexuality was really pushed to the limit in this one. If this makes it to the states they are going to edit the hell out of it. That was most defiantly the Doctors hand. The one he lost during the Christmas Invasion, it’s interesting that it still twitches.

Torchwood 01x01 everything changes

Episode Synopsis (spoilers abound)

Well, we got our grubby little mitts on the new Dr who Spin-off series Torchwood. It was quite good, and it didn’t distance itself too far from the original series to make it unrecognizable, Capt Jack was there, in all his glory.

To start, we enter a dark Cardiff alley, its raining. The police are just starting their CSI stuff on an unidentified body they found. The cops start to be cleared out leaving the body in the alley. One of the cops is more curious than the others. We get a pretty good entrance scene of torchwood. Capt Jack and his cohorts. Gwen goes into the upper story of a parking garage to spy on torchwood. Jack does his little conspiracy theory rant on contraceptives in the rain “at least I won’t get pregnant, won’t do that again…” A rather medieval gauntlet is produced and they apply it to the corpse. With a gasp he wakes up, confused, and disoriented. They explain that he only has 2 minutes and that he was murdered, stabbed. They question him; ask him if he saw anything. He didn’t… They realize that he didn’t see anything. Jack starts asking what he saw when he died. He saw nothing, the man dies panicking that there is no afterlife. They aren’t experts on the subject. Capt Jack asks Gwen what she thinks, she runs off.

The next day Gwen goes down to work, and makes an inquiry about torchwood and Capt Jack. No one in the police has a definite answer to what torchwood is, some sort of CSI her partners imagines. They have a police briefing about the latest ring of stabbings; all are done with a knife about 8 inches long. Later Gwen and her partner try and break up a bar brawl, Gwen gets wounded and has to get stitches. While at the hospital she sees a man running up a flight of stairs and she chases. When she gets to the top she finds the top floor sealed off. Chemicals or something an orderly tells her. Gwen tries to investigate, but finds what she thinks is a strange man. We can tell he’s not quite human, she thinks it’s a mask. He’s wearing some sort of blue shiny torchwood labeled jumpsuit. She tries asking him about the man in the coat. She doesn’t get a response. The orderly comes back and tells her that there aren’t any chemicals or anything, and they don’t know why the floor is sealed up. He starts talking about the guy in the “mask” and how good it is. Getting too close the creature (weevil) lunges for the mans neck and rips his throat out. Out of nowhere Torchwood jumps and subdues the creature. Gwen runs out of the hospital and tries to chase down the Torchwood van. She runs the registration over her radio, but gets nothing. The only thing that she has is that there was an American Captain Jack Harkness who disappeared in 1941. She follows them to the Cardiff monument that the TARDIS was parked in front of in Boom Town.

A traffic cop distracts her and when she turns back they have disappeared. She tries talking to her partner about the hospital porter but there isn’t anyone missing. He thinks that she isn’t well and takes her home where here boyfriend is making dinner. She tells him that she has to work a night shift as they are short. She sneaks down to the place where she lost the Torchwood people. She spots a moped driving pizza delivery person, and decides to go to the pizza place. She flashes her badge and asks if they deliver to Capt Jack, or other versions of his name. She finally gets around to asking if they deliver to Torchwood. Of course they do them all the time, good customers. She gets their address from the pizza guy. Later on we see her walking with two pizzas. She goes through a door under the boardwalk, to some sort of tourist center. The place is all tacky, with brochures and post cards. When she is asked why she is there she says a Mr. Harkness ordered a pizza. Pushing a button a secret door opens, and she is guided through. After going through some mysterious hallways and self opening doors, and a brief elevator ride she finds herself at Torchwood.

The first impression of the place is it’s weird. She has to go through a bank vault rolling door, with a cage that closes when she enters. It looks like a disused subway station that’s been reconditioned as a lair. Inside she sees a severed hand in a bubbling glass display case with a matching head behind it. There is a waterfall through the middle of the place, someone doing welding on a computer, and finally Good ole Captain Jack, who of course seems to be ignoring her. It’s all rather ominous, until they start to laugh. None of them can hold a straight face. They remark that she actually had pizza with her.

She asks what happened to the porter, and they say that he was killed. They planted information making it look like he was never there and when they find his body in the Thames next Tuesday no one with know. Then Capt Jack makes her admit that she saw them bring someone back from the dead. Jack is going to show her the murder, and a pterodactyl swoops down at her. They enter a sort of Hannibal lector glass walled row of cells. The creature from the hospital is in one of them. It is a weevil, and there are hundreds of them in the cities sewers feeding off of the things down there, every once in awhile for some reason one comes to the surface and starts attacking. It’s an alien.

Capt Jack takers Gwen around Torchwood and introduces her to all the main players. She’s concerned of what they are going to do to her, as it is all very very top secret. Jack takes her to the scenic route, which is an elevator that takes them up straight o the spot where the TARDIS once was. Jack explains that no one can see them when they stand there; some sort of perception filter is there. He thinks that a dimensionally trancesndentant chameleon circuit was once in that exact spot and it welded its perception properties to the spatial temporal rift. He likes to call it an invisible lift. Gwen is concerned that people don’t see the hole when the lift is there and they fall in. Jack tells her that is typical Welsh, show her something fantastic and she finds fault.

Later in a bar, cpt Jack tells her that she should know about aliens, the alien ship on Christmas, the cybermen. She tells him that her boyfriend thinks its some sort of terrorism. They do their introductions, and she tells him that Cpt Jack Harkness disappeared in 1941. He tells her Torchwoods mandate, to scavenge technology to help mankind move into the future. Gwen worries that Torchwood could abuse the technology; Jack assures her that none of it can leave the base.

We then cut to a few scenes showing each Torchwood agent at home, unpacking clearly alien technology.

Back at the bar Jack tells Gwen that Cardiff is Torchwood 3. Torchwood 1 was Canary Wharf, Torchwood 2 is a strange man in Glasgow, Cardiff is a temporal rift and flotsam and jetsam come through there. Torchwood 4 has gone missing, but they expect to find it. Jack also explains why he was at the murder scene. They were testing the glove. They needed murder subjects, the more violent the better. Gwen doesn’t believe him, because she saw what he asked him. Jack drugged Gwen with an amnesia pill, one of Jacks personal recipes. Before She falls asleep to the affects of the drug Gwen rights an email with what she knows about torchwood. While Gwen writes the email about each person in Torchwood we see them using the alien technology they lifted.

Owen Harper is at a bar, and his perfume bottle of glowing particles is some sort of love potion. He walks off with the most beautiful girl in the place, when confronted with the jealous boyfriend he sprays himself again. The boyfriend kisses him, and says “I’m so having you” The girlfriend chimes in “I’m having him first” He calls for a Taxi.

Toshiko’s item seems to be some sort of alien scanner. She places it next to a book on her shelf, a tale of two cities, and then takes it to her computer. The screen comes alive with the scanned pages of the book.

Lanto is secretly intercepting Gwen’s email, and deletes it before she can get it out. The next day Gwen remembers nothing. She goes to work, and there is an artist’s concept of the weapon used to kill the recent murders. It’s rather an elaborate affair, and Gwen obsesses over it all day. Later that night she is awake, drawing the blade, and having a flashback of seeing it somewhere. She sees the word remember written on a pamphlet which leads her to the waterfall where the Torchwood is. She has more and more flashbacks till she meets Suzie Costello. Suzie admits that she found the artists conception of the knife and pretty much admits that she did it. Suzie loves the job, but hates that she has to run. She laments that they only get shit, there is better things in the universe, but they don’t come to earth. She admits that she killed the people to test the glove that revives people. The more she uses it, the more she can control it. She wants to get to the point where she can make it permanent. Capt Jack is standing between them in the perception filter, but it doesn’t work on Suzie. She shoots Capt Jack in the forehead. He gets up, and the bullet hole in his forehead heals. He tells her its over, and she commits suicide. At this Gwen Remembers. Then we go to the Torchwood facility, everyone starts to turn in their borrowed alien technology. They bag Suzies body, and put the glove under lock and key. Jack didn’t tell them he was shot in the head. He admits that he can’t die. That somewhere far away, he was killed, and something brought him back to life, and since that time he can’t die. He’s looking for a doctor.. the right sort of doctor to explain it. He doesn’t tell anyone because it freaks people out. Then he offers Gwen a place in Torchwood.

Pretty awesome episode, it didn’t lose any of the Dr Who charm, but it was clearly of a more adult nature. There were more thane one definite reference to bisexuality, and we clearly saw all the blood. I really enjoyed it, and can’t wait for more,

Well, this episode has a little of Lex's back story. Bascially lex's high school years. Lex went to a very high profile private school called Excelsior. they wore little hats and jackets, generally what you would expect of a proper boarding school. Lex wasn't the playboy you might think he was. He was a dork, and had exactly one friend named Duncan, a fellow dork. The upperclassmen, Name Oliver Queen and his cohorts made life miserable for Lex. So, we flash back to the present, and Lana and Lex are at his reunion. One of Olivers cohorts dies, in a very final destination way. Then another cohort dies in an implausible car explosion. After an attempt on Lex lana is injured. SO Chloe, and Clarke start investigating. Lois is also throwing her new found reporter skills at the problem. We find out that Lex's best friend had seen Ollie and his minions stealing the answers to the test. Lex sees this as an opportunity to blackmail the much more popular Queen into pretending to be his friend and getting them some respect in the school. Duncan doesn't want anything to do with it, he's happy being a dork, and feels Lex betrayed him. Lex loses it, and starts wailing on Duncan, really beats the snot out of him. Duncan starts backing away from Lex, and accidentally backs into traffic and gets run over. That moment has apparently haunted Lex, and Oliver since that moment. In the future we learn that Lionel covered the whole thing up, and more mysteriously had the most advanced neurosurgeons working on it. We further learn that Duncans mother signed her son over for a hefty sum, and that Duncan is alive in one of Lionels labs! Clarke and Chloe go searching and find Duncan in his hospital room. They have been injecting him with a serum derived from Meteor rocks. There are readouts showing insane amounts of brain activity at the exact times of the attacks. Also, he just had an injection. Back at Ollies office, Lex is confronting him, when suddenly the window blows in. Lex is knocked out, and Ollie sees his display of arrows start to vibrate of their own accord. Ollie gets impaled against the wall with one of his arrows, and just as another arrow goes to kill him, Clarke bursts into the room and takes the hit for him. The arrow is a localized EMP arrow that Ollie made instead of a boxing glove arrow, and it disrupts Duncans ghost form and kills him.

At the end of the episode Lex confronts Lionel about what happened to Duncan. Claiming that Duncan used the accident to find an experimental subject. He wants the paperwork on Duncon on his desk by the morning.

Then we have Chloe and Clake looking over the satellite images that she got from the Queen satellites that were up on Black Thursday. They see several craters like the one he landed in, and in one of them we see a form. Rya escaped!

Well, we start with Desmond staring at Claire and the baby. He walks up and offers to fix her roof. Tells her to move up the beach for the night and he’ll fix it. Charlie tells him that he can fix it. Charlie Makes the comment that “we’ll have to get that guy another button to push”.

Next we have jack in his cell. Watching cartoons of swans. Jill er I mean Juliet comes in and does some psychobabble stuff. Jack tells her that he should talk with Benjamin because it seems she’s just the one who brings the food. She tries to justify herself, telling him they make the decisions together. Just then Benjamin comes in and tells her she has to come, the Sub is back…

Sawyer wakes up to people at the cell, back to work time, but the walkie talkies chime in an emergency. The woman that Sun shot last episode is taken through bleeding on a stretcher. Sawyer tells Kate that “we happened.” That the survivors shot the woman, and that this is their ticket out of there. Sawyer has a plan to use the bear stimulation machine to electrocute their captors and escape. He plans on leaving Jack behind. Then we start a nice Sawyer prison boxing match. Leaving the match they see a guy get his ass kicked, he apparently stole millions of dollars that no one ever found. Sawyer comes to him, and tells him that the warden is buttering him up to make a play for the hidden millions. The warden shows up and looks threatening and makes some general threats against Sawyer.

Back in the present… Benjamin shows up, and asks Sawyer some questions, Benjamin goes to open Sawyers cage, and Sawyer makes his play, but it doesn’t work, Benjamin shut it off. When Sawyer wakes up he’s strapped to a table, and he’s told to bite down, to deal with the pain. We overhear that since the sky turned purple they are cut off, and they have lost all comms…. They are going to be pushing some giant needle through Sawyers sternum.. “just like the movie” I’m betting pulp fiction… jack overhears through his non working comm.

Sawyer wakes up with a bandage over his heart… they bring in a white rabbit with the number 8 stenciled on its back. Benjamin shakes its cage, and hollers at it. It keels over. Sawyer asks if he killed it. Then he asks Sawyer if he knows what a pacemaker is. He explains that the rabbit had one installed and set to go off if he gets too excited. He tells Sawyer that they have a pacemaker in him that will explode when he gets excited. He has a watch on that monitors his pulse, and if it gets within 15 beats of his target he better start relaxing. They also tell him if he tells Kate they will put one in her too.

When they put Sawyer back in his cage they tell them to get washed, of course when Kate strips off Sawyers watch starts beeping and he gets near his goal.

Flashback! Sawyer is in prison, and his con shows up, and tells him that she had a baby, and that its his daughter. He freaks out and denies its his.

Back in the cages Kate tells Sawyer that if she climbs up the top she can squeeze through. He tells her not to do it, they should get the lay of the land.

Juliet rushes to jack, who is listening to Sawyer through the intercom again. She needs his help to save someone. They take him through the camp, with a bag over his head. Sawyer and Kate try to yell to him, but he can’t hear them because an alarm is being sound through the public address system. They take Jack to an operating room, and he seems someone else’s chest x-rays. Everyone but Juliet wants jack there. The woman flat lines and Juliet sort of crying tells him the paddles are broken; they haven’t ever had anything happen. Jack starts chest compressions, but they don’t help. Jack calls time of death, but there is no clock. One of the others, the one with the broken nose whose name I didn’t catch rushes to Sawyers cage. He beats him brutally, his watch ticking quite alarmingly asking Kate if she loves him. She eventually says yes and he storms off leaving Sawyer in a bloody pool.

Back in prison the thief comes to Sawyer and asks him to move the money. Sawyer tells him, no, that would make him a target…

Back in the cages…

Kate escapes her cage, squeezing out through the bars. Sawyer tells her to stop, but she refuses, and tells him that she knows he is lying. Kate tries to beat Sawyers lock open. He tells her to leave without him. “If you really love me, go” she responds with “I only said that so he would stop hitting you.” Kate crawls back in her cage.

We cut to the video room, Benjamin is watching what happened with Kate, and Danny wants to kill Sawyer

Juliet admits that she is a fertility doctor, and that the dead womans name was Cole, short for colleen. Jack tells Juliet that Cole was dead before she put her on the table. Jack tells her that he doesn’t care about making her feel better. He tells her that the x-rays outside are of a man in his 40s with a rather large tumor on his spine, and he just happens to be a spinal surgeon. He wants to know just who he is there to save.

Back at the camp. ..

Desmond gets a golf club… Then he goes and starts making something, some sort of pole with the golf club at the top and a wire wrapped around it. Hurley is cutting vegetables, and Desmond sits on his table. Hurley asks if its art, he responds that its just an experiment. Just then we get a loud clap of thunder, and it starts to rain. The baby cries, and a bolt of electricity zaps the golf club. Charlie looks at Desmond who smiles back at him.

Back in Sawyers cage Benjamin wakes Sawyer up.

Flashback to the prison. Sawyer is being led to a meeting with the warden in the gymnasium. The warden tells him that he is a dumb hick who knows how to steal. A treasury department agent is there, and Sawyer tells them where the ten million dollars is. For this service, the last six years of Sawyers prison sentence is commuted. There is also a monetary reward. They set up a bank account in Albuquerque under the name Clementine Philips.

Benjamin is taking Sawyer on a walk through the hills, to show him something… Sawyers heart monitor starts going off. Sawyer asks if they took him up there to kill him. Benjamin tells him that they never put a pacemaker in him. He even pulls the rabbit out of his bag. He nails Benjamin across the face with a pretty good left hook. When the get to the top of the mountain Benjamin shows Sawyer that they are on a small island, and that they aren’t even on the actual island anymore. Sawyers own private Alcatraz. Benjamin tells him that the only way to gain a con mans confidence is to con him… He’s really good, but they are better.

Interesting episode. Although if the facility is on another island, why were the spies able to run from the others town to the two crash sites? Are they lying to Sawyer, or is the facility on the small island, and the town on the big island? Why would they need a fertility doctor? The two islands idea might explain why the Frenchwoman was having trouble. Was there some sort of fouled up comm. System in the jungle that Sayid heard? Why do they want Sawyers respect? This show got me turned all round. The answers it delivers makes me think up more questions. Goddam them!

That was an EMP!

I gasped. Within the first few minutes one of the nukes that were streaming overhead exploded in a bright corona and an EMP hit Jericho. OMFG! That was, that was amazing.

Then we have two weeks later with kids playing baseball with cell phones…

People are starting to get nasty; people are starting to realize that things are gone to hell. People are starting to get nasty; there is no technology, no help, and some sort of pestilence hitting the crops. We also have some survivalists causing trouble.

The survivalists (Mitch Cafferdy) steal the Green’s horses, and in the process she gets trampled. Stanley goes to Gracie’s store to get the pesticides to save his corn crop from the bugs, but she wants half his crop. Mimi tells her that the farm belongs to the US treasury, and that Gracie is lucky they don’t take what they want. Gracie tells them to try it. Stanley leaves in frustration. Eric goes to Mary and asks her about the whereabouts of Mitch, and she tells him they are out at the airfield. They talk about their relationship, and what happened two weeks ago. He thinks about her every minute, but he is married and has responsibilities. Jake goes to the airfield and finds the horse tracks.

Stanley goes to the Greens to ask if they have any pesticide. The mayor tells him they have to get some men together and find a way to ration it… Stanley gets mad, telling them that its his corn, and why is he being singled out for attention. Why does everyone have a claim on his corn? Meanwhile back at the ranch... well the airfield. Jake is tending the horses when Dale comes around the corner, Jake asks why he’s there, but gets knocked out before he can get an answer. When he wakes up Mitch has Jake tied and a shotgun on him. Jake tells him that if anyone goes near his family again he will kill him. He starts a fight, Dale helps keep any help. Eric and the sheriffs show up in the nick of time and Mitch runs off on a horse.

Robert tells Jake what is going on, and they start to interrogate. Jake interrogates Dale about why he was with Mitch, Skylar shows up and bails him out but before he leaves he tells Jake where he thinks Mitch is.

Gracie finds the pesticide missing, and of course accuses Stanley of stealing it.

Allison goes looking for her father in the basement, but finds a map with pins all over it, she has an idea what all that stuff is in his secret room, she finds his guns, and his laptop. Robert finds her, and they have a heart to heart about what’s going on. He admits to her that he knows what cities are gone, by the satellite and the shortwave. He tells her that his laptop is ruggardized (sp?)... Built to withstand an EMP, he was given it by the government. She accuses him of being some kind of spy. He tells her she needs to learn how to shoot. They keep it from her mother.

Bill doesn’t find any pesticides in Stanley’s barn, and have harsh words. Mimi tries to calm him down, and Stanley goes to burn the infested parts of the field. Mimi admits that she had the pesticides stolen by some crooked kids; she tells him she had no choice, its every man for himself…

Dale admits that he was helping Gracie and that he had Mitch hiding the stuff from the train in the barn, and that was how he was keeping Gracie stocked. When they get there the barn is empty. Mitch is captured, and Jake starts beating him trying to find out where the food is. We cut to the jailhouse and the debate on what to do with Mitch and Shaun… they haven’t got enough cells, and they can’t let them go. Gail suggests rehabilitation.

Stanley goes to Gracie with the pesticide, and tells her it was a misunderstanding.

As the episode closes just as he is about to burn his crop Gail shows up with all the people she can muster to help Stanly harvest his corn. Gracie shows up with the pesticide and apologizes for losing her head.

Jake and Robert have a talk in the stalks, Jake thanking Robert for his help.

April tries to reconcile and be romantic with Eric, but Eric doesn’t want any part of it. She’s telling him that things have changed, she doesn’t want a divorce. Eric is hostile at first, but wants to talk on the walk home. Then we have Robert photo shopping himself into a family photo to seem like he was always in his families life. The last of the episode has Jake going to Mitch’s cell, and Mitch telling him that “he” is coming for him, and he’s coming for Jake, and he can’t run this time..

Ok, summing up. Pretty wicked episode. Things fell apart really fast. Makes sense, and cooler heads eventually prevailed. The ICBMS were pretty awesome, and the halo caused by the explosion almost an afterthought, like it probably would be in real life. Not something dramatic, people were all distracted by the lights going out to notice the really horrific site. Wonder whats up with that survivalist cult thingy? Jake was apparently a member, and a badass at one point. Hmmm…

Battlestar Galactica 3x3 Exodus pt2

Adama’s back!

Goddam if he aint. Man tonight was an awesome episode. The humans finally start fighting back against the cylon occupation. Adama’s tactics were awesome. Dropping the Galactica straight down into New Caprica till it was practically on top of the city launching its fighters then jumping to light speed, leaving nothing but smoke and vacuum in its wake. This was a truly awesome moment. That was totally out of the box thinking, and how battle would actually go with this type of technology. Lee finally got his balls back.

Well, to put it bluntly, the battle was spectacular. Even the smaller moments were awesome. Kara… Casey… The final moments of the Pegasus… outstanding episode. It was everything a good TV show should be.

Rosslyn gets her office back. WE lose Pegasus, Xenabot gets Hera, Gaius and Caprica 6 walk off into the sunset together.

I knew that casey wasn’t a cylon. IF she was half human half cylon they other cylons would have been talking about her. She would have been as important as Hera, but she wasn’t..

At the end, it was a moment that should have been their happiest, but their hearts had been ripped out.

Next week we have “the circle” it looks like a group that is hunting down collaborators and killing them.

Goddamit! I wish the tv stations wouldn’t move shows around like they do. My PVR started recording Criminal Minds, Who gives a damn about criminal minds? I want my lost fix! Missed like 10 minutes of Lost! Damnitt

Lock is some sort of hillbilly dirt farmer with guns and groceries in the back, and a handsome young hitchhiker?

Locke is doing a spirit journey; he builds a sweat lodge, and takes some herbs. It doesn’t take him long start hallucinating. He has quite the spirit guide too. Someone we haven’t seen in quite the while. He’s taken in his wheelchair to an airport with all his fellow castaways, and told that one of them is in danger. Desmond’s dressed as a pilot, with three Asian stewardesses” he’s helping himself.” Hmmm… He sees Ben being the security guard and checking Kate, Sawyer, and Jack… Boone tells him that he has to clean up his own mess. Hallucinations, blood, etc. When he comes out of the hut Locke holds a machete, and tells Charlie that he is going to save Mr. Eckoes life.

Going through the jungle they find Ecko’s cross, he was dragged through the woods, Locke thinks it was the polar bear. He tells Charlie to go back as bad things happen to people that go with him.

Lcoke flashes back to the commune his sweat lodge, and his new hitchhiker pal. Shows him his sweat lodge, introduces him to the rest of the hippies?

Back in the present, lock and Charlie come across the imploded remains of the hatch, and talk about it for a bit, and then stumble on an eviscerated wild boar. An Active kill, whatever killed it is coming back for more, a sudden roar, and they run, polar bear chasing them through the jungle. Locke of course throws his machete, and nearly nerfs Hurley who gets it straight through the canteen. Hurley is just on his way back from the others with their message. On the way back he tells Locke what he was told, and Locke tells him to go back to the camp and tell the others. Charlie relates that Polar bears are like the Einstein of the bear community. I love Charlie.

Flashing back again, we have Locke and the hitchhiker talking about how everyone at the commune wants a daddy, and Locke should capitalize on that. That upsets Locke. There is of course a mysterious greenhouse that the hitchhiker wants to know about. He assumes that they are tyring to blow something up. He wants in. Locke laughs at him, but tells him that he will talk to Mike and Jan.

Back in the Jungle…Charlie and Locke are perched outside the cave, Locke is going in alone. Locke muddies himself up, and grabs some hair spray, apparently to make a torch.

Hurley finds Desmond in the jungle, naked. Apparently he woke up that way. Hurley gives him a tie dye shirt.

Locke is in the cave, and finds a metal Tonka toy tractor.? WTF? We flash back to the commune, Locke is looking for Mike and Jan to talk about the hitchhiker. Of course the greenhouse is full of Weed. Mike and Jan are grabbing the money and making a run for it. The hitchhiker is a cop, fresh from the academy. Locke tells him that he can fix it…

Back in the cave. Locke finds bones, a lot of them look human. He also finds Ecko. Unconscious, and pretty banged up. Using fire, Locke and Ecko repel the bear, who is one nasty customer. Getting out of the cave Charlie is waiting, they take Ecko and make a run for it.

Hurley and Desmond are walking through the jungle talking about what happened. Desmond tells hurley that Locke is going to save Jack and the others, he said so in his speech… hurley tells him that Locke is going to save Ecko and kill bears.This sort of causes Desmond to pause, he corrects himself, and they continue walking.

Back with locke…
Charlie and Locke are talking and Locke admits that he saw Boone in the sweat hut, and that he told him to clean up his own mess.

Back at the commune Locke is taking the cop hunting for deer. He tells him that mike and Jan want him to see the green house after dinner. Locke pulls the rifle on him, and asks if they chose him. He didn’t load the other rifle. They chose him because he hadn’t been there long, and that he was emendable to coercion. He tells lock that he’s a good man a farmer, and that he won’t do this. Locke tells him he’s a hunter, through teary eyes. The cop says he’s going to walk away.

Back in the jungle.
Charlie and Locke find a stream, and try and get some water into ecko. Locke and Ecko sit at a tree and Locke tells him he’s sorry for ever doubting him, and sorry for giving up his faith. That he could be protecting them. Ecko tells him that he can still protect them, he can still save them. “After all you are a hunter John” When Charlie gets back Ecko is still out of it, as if he never said anything. Spooky!

Hurley makes it back to the beach, and starts to tell everyone what happens, how they took jack, and sawyer. They don’t know what happened to Sun or Jin. Locke gives the speech about bringing them home. Hurley is giving Desmond the fishy eyeball while this is going on. He knew what was going to happen...

Well, the good people of Jericho finally got some sort of outside connection. Of course it just might be an accidental connection that doesn’t mean anything. The power comes on, and everyone gets a phone call from Assistant secretary Walsh from the department of homeland security. It seems that in the cases of pretty bad disasters it’s a sort of reverse 911 network that shoots a message out to all available phones. It apparently came out of Topeka. He tells them to stay where they are if they are safe, and that help is coming. So of course everyone goes batshit and tries to use the phones which ties up the network again.

So the power is back on, the phones and apparently the internet, but not in any form we are used to. It seems the internet is on some sort of proxy. All you get is a page, exactly like the one on all the tv channels, saying emergency alert. Interesting.. I would love to get that 404 traffic. We get some hints at why Jake left Jericho, and that he wasn’t the golden child of the town. We also see something quite interesting scene from Robert Hawkins, where he managed to bypass the proxy with a login and get to some page that looks Russian… Not sure what that was all about, but he types out a message in what looks like a web based messenger window, it doesn’t look like an email. The message is a string of numbers, 29.203.30 or 34, it was kind of fuzzy. I’m betting it’s the begging of an IP address as a big deal was made of pointing out what an IP address is in an earlier scene.

The power coming on of course caused some problems. Massive power surges all throughout town. Emily gets hit by a line and electrocuted, and the library catches fire. Heather has to run into the library to save a small child that ran in to save Alice in wonderland. The paramedics show up, so do the fire trucks, but they lose pressure because of the power problems. Eric runs into the library to save heather, who has found Alice in wonderland and the little girl. Of course things are collapsing, and everything is on fire. Of course Eric Ashley and Heather make it out of the library through a window.

Jake and Stanley get the water going to the fire dept afterwards Jake takes Stanley’s scope and climb on top of the building to see if they got the water. When he’s up there he sees that the trailer park fire is out, but there is a lot of smoke, and that there is another fire going for Eric’s house. Then Jake sees Robert sitting in his back hard with a lot of satellite equipment, and a laptop. Robert of course sees him spying on him from his perch. Running to the library Jake tells Eric that his house is going to burn, and Eric tells him the library and Main Street are more important.

Robert and Jake go to save Eric’s house, some interesting exchanges about their past, neither admitting why they know what they know, but the message getting across that they aren’t the average bear. They get the water going on Eric’s house, but don’t save it.

Dale Turner loses everything in the fires; apparently they lost the whole trailer park..

Eric, and April move back in with the mayor.

The bar is closing, Jake is going to have a heart to heart with his father.. the presidential seal appears on the television. The mayor still has his worrying caugh. Jake is about to tell his father what he was doing in San Diego, but his father doesn’t care, he knows that whatever happened changed his son for the better.

We close with everyone in the bar, the president is only on the satellite feed, as they gather to watch what’s going to happen, it suddenly goes to static. Then the rumbling starts… Everyone rushes out, and we see rockets streaming through the night sky.

Well I have to say this is the best episode yet. It raised so many questions, it tantalized me with answers that it didn’t deliver, and it just kicked my ass.

The library burning down is a very bad thing. If they are alone, if they have to rebuild the library would have been an integral tool in survival. When the antibiotics run out, when they need to fix something, where can they turn? Google is gone, and now so is the library. People forget how important a library is historically for keeping things together. Books are one of the reasons we aren’t hunter gatherers any more.

So, Jake is a suspect in whatever is going on? Is Robert on the side of the angels? Is Jake?

Rockets red glare indeed. The last scene where the tv fell to static and the rumbling started. I knew right away what it was, watching all those faces with this shocked face was awesome. Apparently the US (or whoever is in charge of the missiles) either found the enemy, or enacting MAD. People forget what MAD was all about, the fact that if one side went down all sides went down. The plan was to nuke enemies, and even possible enemies in the event of a nuclear war. How bad are things going?

Damn I hate waiting for new episodes.

Sony's new Bravia Paint AD

Sony BRAVIA has launched its second iteration of the the Colours ads called 'Paint'. Directed by award-winning Director, Jonathan Glazer and the creative team from Fallon, that came up with 'Balls' last year. The proposition behind both ads has been to communicate 'Colour like.no.other'. With both ‘Balls’ and ‘Paint’, their intention was to show the depth of colour that can be taken for granted if you have a BRAVIA high definition LCD TV. Im not sure how much consumers really can value color (yes we like it!) but the ads are done on a such grand scale that you can't help but be captivated. The 'bouncing balls' spot was pretty magical and this one doesn't disappoint. Here is the laundry list of all the necessary ingredients for your own exploding paint building ad:

Lost… Glass Ballerina

Spoilers aplenty, as usual.

Lost sort of jumps around, so I’m going to clump things according to their subjects.

Well, we have a Sun oriented episode this week. Starting out with Sun as a child breaking a glass ballerina, she blames the maid, the maid gets fired… Some people question what this has to do with anything, why it is so important, to even rate the name of the episode. I think that quite frankly it has to do with Sun’s personality. She would rather have the innocent maid fired than face her father’s wrath, and more importantly she is not above letting other suffer in her stead. Her father walks in on her and Jae in bed, and commands her to leave. He also assigns Jin the task of killing Jae, but doesn’t tell him about his daughter’s infidelity. He simply tells Jin that Jae stole from him, and that he needs to restore the family’s honour. After threatening to quit, and much soul searching from Jin, Jin goes to Jaes house and assaults him,, but at the last minute tells the sniveling wretch to leave the country and never come back. When he leaves Jaes body flies out the window and crashes into the hood of a car, dead. He is clutching the pearls he gave to Sun… Later Sun is at Jaes funeral, and her father tells her that she shouldn’t be there. She confirms that her father won’t tell Jim about her infidelity.

Sayid, Jin, and Sun are on the boat waiting for Jack to respond to the signal fire, and Jin says they should go back, Sun reveals she can pilot the boat, and that they should follow Sayid up the coast to try and find jack. The others aren’t happy about them having a boat, even though they can’t use it to escape the will just sail in circles for some reason, but they might find the others base. Kind of Ironic, two Koreans and an Iraqi, The axis of evil rides to the rescue! J They find the dock from the season finale last season, they light a fire to supposedly attract jack, but Sayid admits that the fire is to attract the others, he plans on keeping two, and killing the rest. Two hostages to make the other captive cooperate. Of course Sun figures out what is going on and demands a gun, he also knows that Sun has betrayed him. Sayid is somewhat surprised at how well Jin handles the gun. Later that night Sayid and Jin are on the shore hidden waiting for the others; Sun is on the boat making a cup of tea, when she hears noises. The others have boarded the boat with guns. Sun grabs a hidden gun. Sun confronts a blond female other, the other tells her that she knows her; she knows Suns full name, and tells her that she is not a killer, and that the others aren’t their enemies, but if she shoots that is what they will become. Sun shoots her in the stomach. Apparently she didn’t know her that well after all. The others are alerted and they start shooting at sun. All the gunfire alerts jin and Sayid to the Others on the boat, and they come running, the others shoot at them and keep them away from the boat long enough to get the engines going and sail away. Sun manages to jump off the boat, Sun and Jin find each other in the water. Later on the beach sun and Jin are talking, he tells her that he couldn’t live without her or the baby, Sayid admits he was wrong and tells Jin that next time he will listen to him. Then they star the long walk back to camp.

Kate and Sawyer on the other hand are taken out of their cages and put to work in some sort of archeological dig. In the meantime Alex, Danielle’s daughter makes contact with Kate from the bushes trying to find out about Carl, she admits that Kate is wearing her dress but it looks better on her so she can keep it. Sawyer rebels, kisses Kate, then starts a fight, and almost has the upper hand. Apparently the tasers only work for the others, and not for Sawyer. He manages to get a rifle but Juliet takes Kate and gunpoint, and he has to submit. They beat Sawyer up pretty badly. Later in the cage Sawyer and Kate talk, Sawyer knew he was going to lose, he was just feeling out their captors, seeing what they were capable of. He thinks they haven’t had any real taste of violence, the shaggy blonde one has some sort of martial arts, but he can take them, but the blonde chick would have shot Kate with no second thought. He tells her that when they drop their guard they are going to escape. All this is being watched by Benjamin on closed circuit TV, he hears everything.

Lastly we have Jack… Mr Gale comes in, unfolds a chair and starts talking, he tells Jack how just a week ago they were in the exact opposite position, that Jack was the one making visits, and asks Jack if he could blame him for lying. Gale introduces himself by apparently his proper name, Benjamin Linus, and he has lived on that island for his entire life. He only wants one thing of jack, for jack to change his point of view, and if he does it the others will take Jack home. Jack doesn’t believe him he says the toehrs are stuck on the island too. To prove that they have contact with the outside world Benjamin tells him that they have been on the island for 69 days, and that Christopher Reed has died, bush was re elected, and that the redsox won the world series. Jack laughs at him and basically tells him that the redsox could never do that. Benjamin clicks the remote on the TV and the final game on the World Series comes up, Jack runs to the glass and watches. Benjamin tells him if he cooperates he will be sent home…

Now to sum up.. I think that Sun killed Jae, I think she is way more hard core than they think. I also think that maybe the others are the good guys. All the people on the plane, in their histories have done some pretty horrible things. The precedent of giving one of the others a flashback was pretty telling, even if it was only a small one. I hope we get to see more Other flashbacks.

Well, wel well, the new episode of Jericho was pretty good. Had a few too convenient plot twists, but I think it was good. The townsfok spent the first half of the ep in the shelters, sort of riding out the storm. We had one massive exposure to the fallout rain, and one minor panic exposure. Which led to the funniest line of the whole episode "they'll pay when my spider powers kick in" Heh very very good. Well, we got more information on the state of the world. An asian news broadcast came in on the sattelite if only briefly, showing a map with markers indicating supposedly where the impacts were. Then we have the voyagers, picking the four compas points and going that way to find out what is going on. Jake took the south road and found quite the surprise. Two Jets in the middle of the highway... One crashed, one not. Although, I think that I'm a little disturbed with the FAA or the research team on Jericho.. The black box recording can be played on an old Reel to reel? Tanks, F-18s, mysterious stock piles of munitions? ATC (air traffic control) being wiped out for all of North America? How were the planes radios still working? If it were an EMP the planes would have fallen out of the sky like so many dead birds. That didn't happen, a lot of them came down in corn fields, and highways. What happened to the passengers? Where did they go? And what about our mysterious stranger who says they aren't ready yet? what are they getting ready for and why are they so heavily armed? He knows too much to be innocent.

Power Girl

After mutliple "incidents" involving massive property damage to Metropolis and New York city, the JLA and the JSA agree that Power Girl should take a little vacation from crime fighting to collect herself and to allow her out of control powers to settle. And after a phone call with her cousin, Clark Kent aka Superman, during this "time off", he suggests Power Girl get a day job to help fit in. Easier said than done.

Hiro worship… Well no, its called "don't look back"

Ok, I’ve taken to watching the new NBC series Heroes. The first episode was a setting of the stage, introducing the characters, the setup and what not. There is the prerequisite Indian doctor whose father had a theory about people with extraordinary abilities that live secretly amongst us, and how to track these people. Then we have the Cheerleader with a healing factor. The Japanese comic book geek who can teleport, the artist who paints the future, the webcam girl who has an evil twin, and brother of a senate hopeful who thinks he can fly. Amongst a few others introduced.

So, we have the stage set. The second episode surprised me greatly. It was far more enjoyable than the first episode.

We start off with Claire Bennet, the stereotypical cheerleader with a healing factor. Clair’s father tells her not to worry to keep things light and fun as long as she can… Then an ominous look at the newspaper report about the train wreck. Later at school she is almost revealed as the one who rescued the man in the train wreck from the previous episode, only to have one of her fellow cheerleaders take credit, which she is happy for, but kind of pissed off at the cheerleader for getting the attention. Then her sidekick informs her that the tape of her testing her new powers has disappeared. In the process she collides with a football player and has her head turned all the way around back. Good cover. Then her father (adopted) tells her that he asked the adoption agency to find her real parents to make contact, and it might take years upon years.

Next we move to Mohinder Suresh who comes hoem from a hard days work to find a man in his apartment. The man, claims to be a pest control guy, but is under the table bugging Mohinders apartment. They scuffle, the exterminator pulls a gun. During another scuffle as he tries to get away the exterminator loses his gun and the pretty girl down the hall™ gets the gun and the exterminator runs away. Of course pretty girl™ recognizes his name and knew his father. They find a flash drive, and find Mohinders fathers proof of how to find the super powered beings.

Then we have Hiro! I have to say that my favourite character in this series so far is Hiro. He speaks very little English, but is an excellent character none the less. He is a big sloppy wet kiss to fan boys everywhere. After using his powers to reach New York he finds a comic book on a bookstand with him on the cover. Flipping through he recognizes his own story. This leads him to the writer of the comic, who is the fellow spb Isaac Mendez.. Of course as soon as he gets there he finds Isaac’s body on the floor his head cut open and his brain missing. Then the cops bust in…

Niki Sanders. She is a webcam girl, with some unfortunate connections to lowlifes. She is supporting herself with webcam work, and last episode had to deal with waking up to a room full of destruction and corpses. This week she is in panic mode, and is fleeing the scene of the crime. Going back to the house with her son to grab some things she finds the garage completely put back together and the bodies missing. Also, she finds the keys to the convertible hanging from a rope in the garage. The cars papers have also been made out in her name. There is a heart note on the back telling her “in the trunk follow the map…” The bodies are in the trunk, and look rather destroyed. She follows the map into the desert.. to find a shovel in the sand. Digging a hole she finds more decayed bodies…

Then we have the Petrelli brothers. First mother Petrelli came in and admits that their father killed himself, and suffered from depression and delusions of grandeur. She is worried that the same thing is happening to her son and tells him that he is her favourite and she couldn’t stand to lose him. Later Peter is on the roof and Nathan comes to talk him down. Peter wants Nathan tell him that he flew, and that he’s not crazy. Nathan tells him that they both flew. That he was too heavy and they were falling and then they both started falling. Peter doesn’t believe him. And walks towards him… Nathan tells him to look down and peter realizes that he is floating like three feet off the ground. They hug, Peter looks happy, Nathan seems mad.

Finally we have Matt Parkman, a beat cop who is on the scene at a double homicide, this is a pretty gruesome scene. The wife has been nailed to the banisters on the stairwell with knives and pokers, the father frozen completely solid and his brain sawed out of his head. Matt can hear a little girl whispering though… she is whispering please don’t hurt me… please don’t hurt me. He tunes right in on her and finds her in her hiding space under the stairs. This draws the attention of the FBI agents who are handing the case and think it might be a seriel killer called Syler, one doesn’t believe it the other does. After being questioned by the Scully of the team Matt is dismissed, but the Mulder keeps questioning him, and starts to insinuate that maybe he set this whole scene up to make himself look good and become a detective. A misunderstanding because of his powers leads to Matt being arrested.

The end of the episode though.. That’s the kicker. He tells the cops interviewing him how he teleported from Japan… Getting them to call his friend who can speak English he finds out he has been gone for 5 weeks and has been missing the whole time. Then we hear rumbling and a flash of light... They all stand to look out the window and see waves of light and a destructive blast wave heading for them.. Buildings are destroyed as waves of destruction come across the city. Concentrating the world dissolves behind Hiro, and he is back on the Japanese Subway where he started… We know now when the nuclear explosion hits, its Nov 8^th… Oh, and Hiro is an honorary member of the Merry Marvel Marching Society!! Geekgasm!!

Very Very good show.

Teen Titans #39 DC comics

Well, the titans are on the hunt for the traitor in their midst. Of course speaking for the writers, this whole titan hunt is simply a way for us to be introduced to the titans that quite over the missing year. Here the first new titan we get introduced to is Zatara. Zatanna’s male cousin Zachary Zatara who received his powers after magic went crazy during infinite crisis. His powers and abilities are pretty much the same as Zatanna’s, and he has a similar stage act to hers. Speaking things backwards and having them happen, and he’s quite the prim Donna. The titans show up in his dressing room to ask him if he knows what Raven was looking for, and what she said when they talked. He tells them that she wanted to know the answer to questions about herself. Then we go through a recap of Ravens origin, and rebirth at the hands of the church of blood. Zatara’s information doesn’t seem to lead anywhere, so they leave, but ask Zatara to come with them. He tells them no, and that joining the titans was a mistake and he was embarrassed that he ever joined. After they leave he turns his picture around and sees a picture of Raven, and has an emotional moment. He tries to run after the Titans but they have already gone. “The show must go on!”

Back in the air the titans are wondering where to go next, the twins Marvin, and Wendy are going through the tower looking for what the traitor stole and the only missing thing is an encyclopedia I through K.

The next stop on Ravens list is Brisbane Australia and the home of Miss Martian (M’gann M’orzz), who is very busily dealing with the second tier villain Gunshot. She throws him off the roof, melts his gun with her heat vision, and starts talking to him as he falls. She is very flighty, and giggly, and makes him promise that he will stop being a bad guy before she will stop him from falling. If he breaks his promise she will know, and she knows where he lives because she’s a telepath…. Despite the giggling, “tee hees”, and cutesy act, the actual stuff she is saying and doing are quite menacing. Her “origin” is that when the White Martians started to slaughter the Green Martians her parents sent her in a rocket to the Vega system. When she heard that there was a Martian on earth, the Martian Manhunter, she came to earth and stayed. She decided to setup shop in the Australian Desert because it reminded her of home.

Raven wanted her to user her telepathy on the Titans and find out what one was the traitor, but that was against her personal code, she doesn’t user her telepathy on anyone good people. Ravager was her roommate for a few days until they got in a scuffle because Miss Martian threw a pie in her face after watching three stooges. Ravager made her cry and she quit the Titans. She refuses to telpahically scan the titans, but she does tell them that she was going to the China sea to meet her next contact, the loud titan who makes all the noise…

Next on the menu is Bombshell. A young woman covered in the same alien metal that gave Captain Atom. The fact that she is wearing dog tags, and is fighting Nazis with the USS Ranger leads me to believe she has some military ties like the original Captain Atom. Apparently Raven and Bombshell were working together to find out who the traitor was, Ravager! Deathstoke’s daughter. After this though we have a scene with Miss Martian, she is floating in a meditation pose telepathically sifting through different thoughts about the Titans, most of them from what appears to be Titans themselves, going against her “code” Zeroing in she finds someone saying that the titans greatest weapon is theirs, and the world traitor. The scene, a zero in on her eyes shows grayish skin and red eyes. She says “Oh my” Then the next page…. She has fully transformed Miss Martian is a white Martian!!! She flies off saying “I think I’ve found the bad guy.”

Well, oh my god. Miss Martian is a white Martian! No wonder Martian Manhunter hasn’t talked to her yet, I imagine she would want to give him as wide a berth as possible. I really like the character design, and think that she is an interesting concept. I hope she isn’t a one trick pony and simply an “evil” white Martian sent as a spy on the superheroes. I hope she is something else entirely.

Batman #657 DC comics

Well, we finally have it, the thing that was hinted at in Kingdom come, and was speculated at by fans for years, Ibn al Xu'ffasch the Son of the Bat, of course he is named Damien here… how appropriate is that? Talia has finally revealed Batman’s son to him, a rather precocious little fella who was raised by the league of assassins. This issue is sort of an introduction to the bat family for the little tyke. When Batman arrives at the cave with Damien the boy is less than impressed, more interested in how he deals with the methane the bats produce. “I’ve lived in caves before.” After a little scuffle Robin arrives and is introduced to the precious little scamp. Batmen, tells Alfred to take the boy to his temporary quarters in the mansion, the boy tells Alfred “@#$@# you.” This apparently takes Alfred back down memory lane… Some kid slouching up those stairs in a mood must seem like old hat for him.

Robin and Batman have a brief conversation on where the boy came from, and if batman thinks its possible, which he does. Then something interesting happens, Bruce tells Tim that it won’t change anything between them, and if the boy is his son he deserves some love and respect… Tim doesn’t react well to that at all. He tells Batman that he should earn it like the rest of them have had to do. Hmm, I see some juicy conflict there. It’s a good way to introduce some bat type family conflict into the book while agreeing with the post year later status quo of the bat family. Robin tells Batman that the Spook is held up in Blackgate prison with the mayor as a hostage, and that he can handle it himself. Then he storms off…

Next we have Damien in his very very well appointed room complaining about not having a laptop or his sword. Bruce tells him that until they can trust him, he isn’t getting them. He then throws a tantrum over the food splattering it all over the walls. Batman quells this looming over him in a rather menacing pose telling him that he is a disgrace to his sensei, and that his rage is born of fear and is unbefitting a student of the martial arts, and he will be given opportunities to prove himself. This knocks the boy back into line and he bows and acquiesces saying “yes father”

Then we cut to the sewers under Blackgate. The spook, a rather generic villain wearing green robes and flying around going ooooaaauuuu! Lol, kind of funny stupid villain, but a generic staple of the batman rogues gallery, but he isn’t the focus. The focus is on the discussion between two fo the Spooks underlings. Both carrying big guns, and wearing sheets with holes for eyes, very Casper. The taller one is asking the smaller one about his previous “novelty” acts. Wondering who else he’s worked for and so on, they talk a bit about how the spook isn’t actually a ghost and uses tricks and illusions to pull of his ghostly theme. Realizing the guy doesn’t talk like a villain this tips the short one off that this isn’t actually a bad guy, but an undercover cop. Calling for help from Gordon Batman shows up and saves the day. They find the hostages, and the Spook.. Who apparently has lost his head in the confusion, literally.

Back at the batcave Robin finds Damien playing with his sword in the batcave. He asks Damien how he got out and Damien tells him how he cracked his room lock, then he mimics Robin’s voice perfectly. Damien is quite interested in how to get into the more secure parts of the bat cave. Then he does something rather disturbing. He tells Robin that Batman challenged him, challenged him to prove himself and fight crime. And apparently Crime lost, pulling out a severed head, with a grenade in the mouth. He throws the head in the air and it explodes, starting a battle between him and Robin. They race up the top of the dinobot that Batman has had in his cave for like ever and apparently it still works, as it tries to eat Damien! On top of the dino Robin asks Damien why he is being such a jerk, he replies that it’s because Robin doesn’t deserve any of this and is adopted, but when robin is gone he will inherit everything as Batman’s son, he strikes Robin who falls off of the dino. Then we cut back to Batman who is swinging through Gotham. He finds a hooded figure in the shadow and asks him how he got out. He tells Batman that he wants to help him, and that he is the only one who can help him stand against his mother. He tells him that he already has a partner, and where is Robin, what has Damian done with Robin. Damian pulls the robes back to reveal that he is wearing the robin tunic and mask, and that there is a new Robin now. The next scene shows Robin (Tim) unconscious lying in the shattered glass of Jason’s Robin costume.

Well.. This was interesting and fun read. I liked the introduction of the son of the bat, and hope its not a fake out. We have Helena over in Catwoman, and now we have the son of the bat in Batman. Very very good. I like it.

Amazing Spider-Man #535 Marvel Comics

Well, the shit has hit the fan. Peter has realized exactly who is working for, and what they are doing. It starts out simply enough. Peter wakes up the morning after Goliath died, and watching the news realizes that Stark is making insane amounts of money from the civil war… Next we have peter, being uncharacteristically serious asking Tony to show him the detention facility. Arriving at the Baxter building Reed opens the Negative Zone Portal and in they go. We also get indications from Reed that Tony has been keeping things from Peter, and getting no clear answer where the rest of the Fantastic Four are. Entering the Negative Zone Tony gives Peter a tour of the prison complex. The first prisoner they happen upon is Prodigy, one of the Slingers, the sort of Spiderman groupies from years gone by, a costume and identity that Spiderman himself started.

Then we get some nameless woman who is being kept in a virtual reality suite, while Tony calls it some form of recreation, the woman is begging for help.

This is where things get strenuous. Peter asks Tony flat out if this is a temporary thing. He says no. They get into quite a heated argument about it, basically that since this is the negative zone, the US laws do not need to apply, and that She-Hulks legal maneuvers trying to get people released will come to nothing as it’s an act of congress signed by the president. The only way to get the people out of the negative zone would be to get the Supreme Court to sign off on it, and Tony knows they won’t. The people that are being restrained are in that prison until they register as superheroes, and become one of the governments Avengers.

When they return and Tony leaves, Peter asks Reed one question. “Why?” Reed sort of hums and haws a bit about the answer, but finally reveals his reason for backing registration, his uncle. Reed had a writer/eccentric Uncle Ted Richards, his father’s older brother. During the Communist witch hunts of the McCarthy era he was called in to testify, he basically told them to go to hell. They held him in contempt of congress for six months. This destroyed him. He wasn’t able to find work, people wouldn’t talk to him, he was a pariah. Reed never spoke to him again. After a pause, Reed admits that this killed him… I think he killed himself by the reaction Reed gave.

Reed continues that basically his uncle was in the wrong, and that we give the law the power to take everything away from us to be safe, if we murder, if we kidnap, or even tell powerful men to go to hell…. Basically Reeds point of view is that he law is the law and they must support it even if its wrong. Peter leaves Reed in the dark telling him that he would have liked his uncle, but Reed loved him. This looks like it gives Reed Pause.

Later Tony and Peter are talking, Tony wants Peter to take a break, and peter tells him no, he doesn’t need one. Later that night Peter starts gathering up his family, telling aunt may, and Mary Jane that they need to get out, find safety, that he’s made a horrible mistake, and that he’s been on the wrong side.

Hearing some booms he dons the new Stark Spiderman suit and goes to see what’s going on. Iron man busts through the wall and attacks him, “I thought you knew what side you were on?”

Civil War #4 Marvel comics

Oh holy god! This was a pretty severe issue. The battle of the civil war has finally
begun, and boy oh boy is it bad. The battle, not the war. AT first it seemed like just the
usual hero on hero type of thing. But then... THOR shows up! and we are talking old school
smite the unjust thor, and he is royally pissed off. He goes all medievil on the anti
registration heros, blasting Captain America with Mjollnir. The battle is pretty violent,
and the heroes know that what is going on is just wrong. The battle culminates in Thor
blasting a lightning bolt straight through Goliath killing him instantly, and then turning
to the rest of the anti registration heroes and letting loose another bolt. The heroes are
saved by an unlikely saviour. Sue Richards, Invisible woman. She covers the heroes in a
forecfield which deflects the blast. Containing the pro registration heroes she tells the
anti reg heroes to run. Cloak teleports most of them away, not able to get everyone,
Wiccan being one of the ones left behind. Reed Richards disables Thor, who is apparently a
clone and not the original god of thunder.
stark holds a funeral for Goliath, who they couldn't shrink back to human size. He meets
Goliaths mother who tells him that she understands why what happened happened, and tells him
to keep up the good work. Meanwhile the anti reg heroes are holed up in their shield base
talking about what happened. Some heroes leave saying that things are too crazy, and they
didn't sign up to fight cops and heroes. Cable, Stature and Nighthawk leave and a shodowy
figure watches them from the shadows.
The pro reg heroes ae gathered and are watching as the new thor "Clor" is having maintenance
done t find out what is wrong with him. Why he killed Goliath. Hank Pym muses that maybe
they need to fuse him with a Donald Blake to make him right... The thor Clone with an
insturment in the side of his head gives this weird look.
Reed and Tony understand that the disaster in the battle made a lot of people change sides,
and rethink what to do. The pro registration side is going to lose a lot of heroes over
this. They know that they cannot push up the fifty states initiative, so they fallback on
the thunderbolts... Who are really nasty villians in this case, none interested in
redemption. Basically a nasty marvel Doom patrol, including Jack O'Lantern, Lady
Deathstrike, The Jester, Taskmaster, Venom (Mac Gargan), and Bullseye.
Now, at the end of the issue we have the real fallout. Sue leaves Reed. It's not a firy
battle, its just she and johnny leave a note, and simply leave. They cannot be a part of
what Reed is doing, and they beg for him to regain his sanity. They leave the children
there and leave, the Thing watching from the window. The thing, having decided that he is
going to leave for Canada. It's down to the Fantastic 1.

Well, this series is always pleasing, I enjoy dipping into what happened to the different characters over the missing year. First off we have Timothy Trench, one of the Croatoan society members becoming liquid wearing the Dr Fate helmet. A mystery only Ralph Dibney (the Elongated man) can solve. In the other story we have Renee Montoya, and the question in Khandaq getting medals from Black Adam for saving the wedding party from the bomber last issue, of course Renee is more interested in dying and having her way with comely lasses than medals. Black Adam freaks out, almost kills her until Isis intervenes, they need to get on Intergang… Now Intergang means more to me than criminals, and advanced technology, Intergang was always the fleshy earthly hand of Darkseid the one major exclusion from the crisis. I think we are building towards something here. We also have Booster Golds funeral, and maybe replacement, but honestly, I don’t want to continue with the whole killing, and raping, and driving crazy the fun characters in the DC universe anymore.

What is a cuckoo? That is the question this comic poses. The Stepford Cuckoos have been in the mansion for awhile now, an enigma. Starting out as five telepathic girls that grew so much alike they were as one. The first part of the book is interesting, showing the girls, showing how powerful they are becoming, and raising the prospect of what they are. The girls are a plant, eggs laid in the nest of the X-Men, and for all intents and purposes it looks like they were laid by phoenix… or something that wants them to think its phoenix. You see in nature, the Cuckoo lays its eggs in another bird’s nest, when the birds hatch they have similar markings, and can imitate the false mothers begging call. Instinctively they drive the birds real children out of the nest, pushing chicks and eggs out of the nest. So are the cuckoo’s eggs of the phoenix? Or are they something that is assuming its plumage and begging call?

The Boys #2 DC comics (Wildstorm)

Now, the Wildstorm Universe, which has been my favourite hunting ground for awhile has had a bit of a soft reboot. One of the new series to come out of this is the boys. The premise is basically a group of people who keep the heroes in check, or punish them when they do bad, or even just randomly smack one down just cause. This issue is pretty much an intro issue, setting up the main players, and getting across that they don’t care, and how violent and dangerous they are. The everyman character, who I am positive is based on Simon Pegg, is being sort of seduced into joining this group of sociopaths. I haven’t seen anything extraordinary yet, but I am going to give this book a shot for another little while. Hopefully it goes somewhere good, in Wildstorm fashion.

Beyond! #3 Marvel Comics

The even comic that’s not really an event… I’m actually enjoying Beyond!. The few issues I’ve read have me wondering where they are going. Of course the series is just an attempt to bring deathlok back to the mainstream. The heroes, minus one dead Spiderman have a pretty badass fight with dragon man who isn’t holding back. They meet up with deathlok, who goes through a constant argument with his inner computer trying to figure a way to save all the heroes, and to defeat dragonman. I think there is something fishy going on with Deathlok. He recounts that he’s been on the beyonders world for years, and a lot of heroes have been chewed up and spit out, including recurring secret wars that no one knows about. The scenes with “dead spidey” are pretty cool, thought they might just run with a marvel zombies type thing, but it went another way. The series has me interested in what happens next.

The end is near for Yorick and his growing group of followers. At this point they are in China, and Rose, Dr Mann’s Aussie GF finally wakes up after her shish kebobing at the hands of the senior Dr Mann. Most of the issue is setting up the end. Getting all the characters into the spot they need to be. Yorick, Rose, Dr Mann, and 355 are in China. Hero, Ciba, Natalya and the babies are in NY boarding a steam liner being chased by the last desperate arms of the amazons, of course Alter is spying on them. Most of the issue is talking heads, just exchanging ideas. Things like the cloning aspect, and how Ampersand has to have babies. Pretty interesting discussion on how Yorick is going to be the basis for the new human race… Things get interesting towards the end when Rose reveals her true colour, and the good DR has another bout of illness leading to a bad situation… Morphogenic field? Hmm…

The thing that Y the last man has done to me in the last few years of reading it is simple. They made me care about the characters. I want to see Dr Mann survive, I want Yorick and Beth to get togeather. It’s all going to end soon, they reveal of what happened with the plague, and what is in store for the characters.. I am really looking forawrd to, and dreading the rest of the series.

I’ve seen the first episode of CBS’s new series Jericho.

(from CBS's press release) JERICHO is a drama about what happens when a nuclear mushroom cloud suddenly appears on the horizon, plunging the residents of a small, peaceful Kansas town into chaos, leaving them completely isolated and wondering if they're the only Americans left alive. Fear of the unknown propels Jericho into social, psychological and physical mayhem when all communication and power is shut down. The town starts to come apart at the seams as terror, anger and confusion bring out the very worst in some residents. Jake Green, the prodigal son of the town's mayor, becomes a reluctant hero when a school bus crashes as a result of the explosion. Mayor Johnston Green is conflicted with the return of his estranged son, but is called to action when the town begins to riot. Johnston’s wife, Gail, is the strong, savvy first lady of the town who runs interference between her husband and her favorite son. Attempting to usurp the mayor’s power is Johnston’s political adversary Gray Anderson, who is not above putting his personal agenda before the welfare of the very community he wants to lead. The first episode had a lot of promise. Skeet Ulrich plays the lead, the sort of black sheep rebel rouser who left town years ago without word. He arrives back in Jericho full of secrets, and a different answer to his whereabouts for everyone who asks. The town is a sort of nice small town in the desert type of place. After awhile of the usual homecoming, and recrimination all hell breaks loose. We get no warning; we get nothing, nothing but a mushroom cloud on the horizon. This is actually very well done, and the immediate consequences of the blast are what fuel the rest of the episode.

People start to panic, there is no communication, no one knows what is going on… I’m not going to spoil it for you, I am just going to tell you things you’ve seen in various clips on the web… OF course when you see the episodes and realize, that the clips sort of misled you, that its not as clear cut as you were first led to believe. It’s pretty awesome actually. So, in the confusion a school bus of children is missing, so are various other residents of Jericho. The mayor tries to calm the people, and sends the police to find the bus, and well.. They do… sort of.

We set Jake Green up as a hero pretty early on, but there is something dark in his past, where was he? Why was he being so mysterious? And they ay we find out that Atlanta is gone, that was a nice little WTF moment right then and there. Pretty awesome.

I give this ep a 5 star on the premise, the setup, and the acting. I will leave it to CBS to see where it goes from here.

Well, it looks like I'm going back to Barrow... OK, awhile ago you should know there was this kickass little graphic novel called 30 Days of night. You might have heard of it? Anyway the basica premise was this. Vampires are real. They find out about this little town called Barrow Alaska, they also find out that once a year Barrow has a night that lasts over 30 days... Can we say buffet?

The book, a little indy publisher book, with this insane artwork sort of caught the attention of a few loyal readers, and of course spawned a number of sequals, and put that particular comic company on the map. Now we have the live action movie.

Right now it's in production, and there isn't much news. Just that Josh Hartnett is the lead, and David Slade is directing. There are some Embedded flash videos of the production, not much, just location shots, things like building the sets. It's going to be a fun ride, and I hope they get the atmosphere down pat on this one. It's one of those books that you cuddle up with on a nice dark and stormy night.

This is not the usual sort of hollywood movie. In a good way though. The characters were more realistic, and the way the story unfolded was believable. To start with, we all remember that day. The confusion, the stories that were flying around about what happened. It's all there, this movie nails that feeling on the head. It really amazed me how accurate they got that.
Now, in a normal movie it would have went like this, hour of setup, geting the characters established, yada yada, etc etc. Then the tower would come into play at the halway point. the rest of the movie would be some sort of heroic struggle (superman heroic, not quit desperation heroic) then we would have the rescue and a tearful hugging of the wife.
That is not how World Trade Center worked. The setup is brief, and we get a taste of how the characters lives work. Then before we have time to get into our popcorn all hell breaks loose. The characters are bussed to the disaster site, and they know nothing. My friend kept saying for them not to do stuff, but all I kept saying was, "they don't know"
They aren't in the tower that long to get their bearings and things go from disasterous to insane. The towers collapse... well one of them. Of course the characters don't know this. Through the whole movie you do understand how little they know about what is going on. Usthe viewers at the other end of five years later can rhyme off they events as they go by, but the characters are in the dark...
the rest of the movie alternates between the families going nuts over what is happening, and the main characters trapped under the rubble. The movie went by very very quickly. I.. well enjoyed wouldn't be the right mood would it? It was a good movie, and I would watch it again. The acting was good, even Cage who has a tendancy to sort of wander sometimes. I particularly enjoyed Michael Pena's and Maggie Gyllenhaal's performance.

X-men #190 Marvel Comics

Yaaaaaaaaaawn. Ok, it wasn’t that bad, but Marvel always seems to want to introduce these new threats, the neo, the omega sentinels, etc etc. Now they have this new group called the Children of the Vault… Now, I understand that to get new and different threats they have to do this, and lately with the new rule or “no more mutants” (which I hated btw) they have to dance around a bit to do it, but come on? Please. Just lift this insane mutant phobic restriction on mutants, go back to the heyday or mutant town, and mutant stars just get it over with dammit!

Did like two things however, Northstar and aurora kicked ass completely and utterly. Although, I don’t think their mission is worthwhile, killing Sabertooth? Oh, btw, he sucks too, why don’t they duck over to exiles and see how ole Creed should be written? Which was good, and they are finally getting around to letting Bobby have some cool powers. I was beginning to think that his powers rocked as long as he wasn’t using them.

BTW, loved the cover.

Walking Dead #30 Image Comics

Walking dead was pretty good this week. It had a nice little twist at the ending that took a second read to truly get, (or maybe I’m dense?) Rick, and crew are still being held prisoner by the governor, and the people back home at the prison are freaking out about them being gone. We have some good scenes at how the mental fraying is beginning. I’ve said sicne they started to settle down that once the threat seemed external to their day to day lives they would start to pick up on being people. We have Lori and her “suitor” being misunderstood again. And the prospect of a post zombie movie night, I am willing to bet that night of the living dead doesn’t get a showing…

The final scene kind of pissed me off, using Ricks reactions that way sucked. I think Kirkman is trying to do something even darker to Rick. Not that he hasn’t already been coming undone like cheap pantyhose lately. Of course, I would too, but in a more sensible way. When are they going to start to look at the dead like a flood and not an enemy?

Rush #1 DC comics

Rush City has a pretty basic premise. This guy had a major trauma, he wants to prevent other people from having similar trauma in their lives, so he tries to prevent it. His tagline, you lose someone you love, I will find them. Of course to do that he has a souped up car.

The first issue, is a nice little continuation of the #0 that came out a bit ago. We have the main character trying to find a lost little girl, the trick is that she has diabetes, and unless we get to her in 24 hours she will die. So we have a lot of Rush beating up on the usual lowlifes, and a few car chases. The girl, turns out, fell into the hands of some pedo trash, but couldn’t get any money for her cause she was “sick” Rush, rushes to the rescue. Heh. And saves her.

The book was ok, nothing to write home about, good setup of the premise, and possibly a good book. The only thing that has me worried was the last scene, the setup of some sort of car based supervillian named gearhead… “I am my car” pfft, that so sucks. They had a sort of good little alternate vibe, could have stayed clear of the capes, and kept it reality based, but nooo they had to throw in gearhead. Sigh….

So, I’m giving this a hopeful 3 stars out of 5, just cause its new, and I have hope.
